International Partnerships

Internationally, FCI works to improve the lives of people in underdeveloped communities. These communities could consist of refugees, people affected by war, natural disaster, or by a lack of sustainable opportunities. As many of these communities are in transitional stages, FCI seeks to provide relief where necessary with an end goal of equipping communities to become self-sufficient. Some of the foundational elements FCI focuses on are: education, leadership, and economic development. In order to effectively operate internationally, FCI partners with local organizations that maintain a sustained presence of leadership and service in the community.

Development Focus

Building Projects

During the last decade, ASET has built hospital clinics, water towers, schools, and a kindergarten. All of these facilities have dramatically affected the communities in which they are located.

Well Digging

Afghanistan has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, with an estimated 900 children under five dying every day. A major factor in this is a lack of safe drinking water. ASET works with communities to build wells while also offering safe water training in hygiene and sanitation. The project has already completed 10 wells serving more than five communities and benefitting thousands of people.

ASET prepares women for the work place with classes in English, as a foreign language, computer skills, and job training. In addition, the center provides women with educational resources through an English library, computer lab, internet café and quiet study area.

English and Teacher Training

ASET is committed to education as a fundamental element of development work. Over 300 teachers have been trained in the ASET Teacher Training program and hundreds of young people are learning English in the village surrounding Mazar-e-Sharif due to English teaching programs.

Maternal Healthcare Programs

Afghanistan has one of the world's highest rates of maternal and infant mortality. ASET has and continues to run various programs to help combat this needless tragedy.
